Autumn Hurlbert (born on March 6, 1980 in Great Falls, Montana)[1] is an American actress, singer, and dancer known best as the runner up on the reality competition series Legally Blonde - The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods. Hurlbert was said to be one of the top singers and actresses of the show, but lacked the dancing skills needed, and was eventually defeated by Bailey Hanks for the top prize, starring as Elle Woods in the Broadway production of Legally Blonde. Hurlbert had previously starred in the first national tour of the musical, Little Women.[2] She has numerous regional credits including Belle in Beauty & the Beast, Eponine in Les Miserablés, and the mistress in Evita.[3]
The actress served as a member of the ensemble in Legally Blonde: The Musical until its closing on Oct 19, 2008. She also understudied the parts of Elle and Margot on Broadway.[4] She is an accomplished song writer and professional singer. Hurlbert also recently did a staged reading for the upcoming musical Vote[5] and currently resides in New York City, though raised in Mesa, Arizona.
Hurlburt will star in the upcoming production of the musical Tomorrow Morning at the York Theatre Company, New York. Tomorrow Morning, with book, music and lyrics by Laurence Mark Wythe is a new musical about relationships. Tomorrow Morning has been produced in London and Chicago and, in 2009, won Chicago’s Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Musical.[6]
